It is also known that in connection with the combustion of kerosene, for example for heating, C0 begins to be produced at 9000 ppm CO 2 because the combustion deteriorates at higher levels of CO 2.
DISCLOSURE OF THE PRESENT INVENTION Technical problems Taking into account the prior art, as described above, it is a technical problem to provide a device for detecting and warning C02 in difficult environments, such as environments with a lot of water, fat or other substances affect the device.
It is a technical problem to offer a device for detection and warning of CO 2 which can be easily cleaned without the device therefore being adversely affected.
It is a technical problem to offer a device for detection and warning of CO2 which, by simple means, emits a strong acoustic signal in connection with a warning.
It is a technical problem to offer a detection and warning of the presence of CO2 in premises that are continuously used as a working environment.
It is a technical problem to measure the presence of C02 in a room with ventilation, open windows or doors, and where people move in and through the room.
It is also a technical problem to simplify and thus also make a unit economically cheaper so that it can become practically usable for the public as a device or system for detecting CO 2.
It is also a technical problem to offer an economically inexpensive device that is practically useful to the public as a C0 device or system. The solution With the intention of solving one or more of the above-mentioned technical problems, the present invention indicates that a monitoring system for CO 2 is placed in the direct working environment, i.e. adapted for e.g. kitchen, ie directly in the room where you work with C02 and adapted for millions.
It is proposed that a device according to the invention is an integrated unit where both gas detecting unit with gas cell for detection of CO 2 and alarming unit are integrated in a device. The alarming unit may comprise light generating means for generating a flash light as well as acoustic means for generating an acoustic signal.
A device according to the invention has an outer casing facing the room which is sealed to be able to be exposed to liquids, in connection with cleaning or due to liquids present in the environment, as well as grease or oil. To allow a gas exchange to the gas cell acting in the unit, the part of the housing facing the unit's base is open for gas exchange but closed by cooperating inclined wall portions which prevent liquid from entering the unit.
According to a proposed embodiment of the present invention, these cooperating wall portions are truncated cones of different sizes facing each other forming a system of wall portions through which liquid cannot recover, at the same time as they form a sound amplifying system of cones which gives the effect of a megaphone for an acoustic signal, and whereby gas easily flows for a gas exchange in the gas cell.
A system of cooperating truncated cones may comprise, for example, a first cone with its smaller opening facing the device, the gas cell and the acoustic means and its larger opening facing the base of the unit and towards a second cone, where the second cone is larger than the first konen. This second cone may be open in its larger opening facing the first cone and closed in its smaller opening facing the base of the unit. This closed part forms a seal against the substrate and a surface for a fastening device for the unit. A third cone, 12 18 24 larger than the first and second cones, is located above the first cone and faces, like the first cone, with its larger opening towards the second truncated cone. The smaller part of the third cone is closed with a closure between the third cone and the first cone.
The three cones go slightly into each other at the outer edge at the larger end of the three cones, which together form oblique wall portions which partly blocks the possibility of liquid entering the gas cell, partly allows a gas exchange for the gas cell and partly forms the sound amplifier the acoustic signal system.
The first and third cones are integrated in the sealed housing of the device, while the second cone forms part of the attachment of the device to a substrate.
A first fastening device is adapted to offer a fixed but removable attachment between the second cone and the sealed housing. This first fastening device can for instance consist of a screw connection where the second cone is assigned a number of ears through which screws can be screwed and connect to threaded holes in the sealing housing.
These threaded holes may, for example, be located in the first cone, in the third cone, or in the closure between the first and third cones.
The second cone may be assigned a second fastening device adapted for co-operation with a fastening plate, where the fastening plate is adapted to be attached to the substrate and where the second fastening device is adapted to a fixed but easily removable interaction between the second cone and the fastening plate. The second fastening device may, for example, consist of a bayonet bracket.
It is proposed that at least a part of the housing facing away from the substrate is transparent to transmit a flash light within the housing, and that the transparent part has a color which gives a suitable color to the warning light for warning signals.
In this way, both an acoustic signal and a light signal can be easily generated by the device according to the invention. 12 18 24 This device can be adapted to give alarms at different levels that can be determined by, for example, local legislation or ACGlH's recommendations that are accepted in most countries in the world.
For example, a first level may be in the order of 5000 ppm Time Waited Average (TWA), and a second level in the order of 1 to 3% STEL, where the first level is a warning for long-term exposure but where the first level may be harmless for short-term exposure, and where the second level warns of danger even with short-term exposure. Of course, there can also be only one or more than two alarm levels.
An example of an additional alarm level is a third level that can be interesting in spaces where some form of combustion of kerosene takes place, for example for heating or cooking. The present invention provides that a third level is set at 9000 ppm CO 2, since the combustion of kerosene deteriorates at higher levels of CO 2, causing CO to be formed. This third level thus refers to a warning for the formation of C0.
An alarm system according to the present invention is a leakage alarm, unlike known life-saving alarms, where the leakage alarm warns of a change in the environment of the room.
Such a room can be a work environment or living environment where there is a need to monitor dangerous levels of C02 and / or C0. The present invention can thus be adapted to a use in various industrial premises and in workplaces, such as restaurant kitchens, and also to a use for private use, such as in homes, holiday homes, caravans and leisure boats.
The invention thus indicates that the sensor and the warning indication must be integrated in the same unit, unlike prior art where the sensor is located in one room while the alarming unit is located in another room. The device according to the invention must be placed and function in an environment with legislated ventilation and air movement created by human movement. It is thus proposed that the device be mounted at head height for the persons present in the room, and it is possible, if necessary, to have several devices connected and mounted in the same room. 12 18 24 It is suggested that a warning at the first alarm level could be the integrated flash light, and that the warning at the second alarm level could be an acoustic signal from the integrated siren which could also give a unique clicking sound that would not be as disturbing as the siren for surrounding premises.
Known systems for CO2 measurement are large, if they were integrated into a device and mounted according to the present invention, they would be very large and bulky. In order to be able to offer an integrated unit that can easily be mounted at head height in a workroom without being bulky, a C02 detector is required that is adapted small for such an integration. It is proposed to use a gas sensor adapted for the detection of CO2 by absorption of infrared light, a so-called IR sensor. A possible sensor unit that is small enough to be used with the present invention is described and shown in the Swedish patent application SE 0901378-0, with the title "A measuring cell adapted to a spectral analysis", with the applicant SenseAir AB.
The device according to the invention can be adapted to prefabricated mounting, preferably against a wall.
The device according to the invention comprises components which are normally driven by 12 to 24 volts. Such operating voltage can be obtained by connecting the device to the public electricity grid and that the device also comprises an integrated transformer which delivers the required voltage. It is also possible to use an external transformer connected to the public electricity grid which supplies the required voltage to the device. Regardless, it is proposed that the connection to the public electricity grid be secured with some kind of lock, such as a “plug-lock” so that the operating voltage to the device is not accidentally disconnected. It is also possible to use internal battery operation, such as so-called Super Capacitors, in the device. It is also possible to commission a device according to the invention, or charge the super capacitor for a device according to the invention, with light cells. 12 18 24 A method according to the invention consists of measuring CO 2 in the room where people / people work and that the alarming unit is also located in this room in order to be able to directly give alarms to the people who are in the room.
It is also possible to offer a first interface for communication, whereby an external alarm signals can be sent to spaces outside the monitored room. It is also possible to offer a second interface for communication, an interface for digital communication, whereby it is possible to communicate with the device for service purposes and if desired to keep a log of measured gas levels.
Both the first and the second interface for communication can be a wired or a wireless interface. There is nothing to prevent the first and second interfaces from being a common interface, such as that only the second interface exists, but that it is also adapted for communication of an external alarm signal. The device according to the invention can thus be included in a system of a plurality of devices where different premises can be monitored from a central position from which it is possible to communicate with devices included in the system.
Advantages The advantages that can mainly be considered as characteristic of a method and a device according to the present invention are that in this way the CO 2 content can be measured continuously in a room / workplace where people are and work or live, and this with one or more small simple integrated devices comprising both a gas measuring unit and an alarming unit. The device is simple to manufacture, can be manufactured in a cost-effective manner, and can also be easily installed in premises where it is important to be able to monitor the CO 2 content in order to control the working or living environment in the premises. There is also an opportunity to monitor dangerous levels of CO in premises where incomplete combustion of, for example, kerosene takes place with small devices adapted for both industrial use and private use in, for example, homes, holiday homes, caravans and boats.
Figure description 12 18 24 A device and method exhibiting the properties associated with the present invention are shown schematically in the accompanying drawing where: schematically and very simplified shows a CO 2 alarm system according to prior art, schematically and very simply shows a device 3 according to Figure 1 Figure 2 present invention Figure 3 Figure 4 Figure 5 shows a cross section of a device according to the invention, shows a device according to the invention in perspective view, and shows schematically and very simply a system of cooperating devices.

To allow an exchange of gas 33 to the gas cell 34 operating in the unit, the part of the housing 32 facing the unit base 35 is open for gas exchange but closed by cooperating inclined wall portions 36, 37, 38 which prevent liquid from entering the unit. .
These cooperating wall portions may consist of truncated cones of different sizes facing each other forming a system of wall portions through which liquid cannot pass, at the same time as they form a sound amplifying system of cones which gives the effect of a megaphone for an acoustic signal. and whereby gas easily flows for a gas exchange in the gas cell.
In the embodiment according to figure three there is a first 36, second 37 and third 38 cooperating cone.
Figure 4 schematically shows a first fastening device 41 adapted to offer a fixed but removable fastening between the second cone 42 and the sealed housing 43.
This first fastening device 41 is constituted in the exemplary figure by a screw connection where the second cone 42 is assigned a number of ears 41a, 41b, 41c through which screws can be screwed and connect to threaded holes in the sealing housing 43. These threaded holes can for example sit on the the first cone, in the third cone, or, as shown more clearly in Figure 3, where the threaded hole is a bracket 39 'which in turn is located in the closure 39 between the first and third cones 36, 38.
Figure 4 also shows that the second cone 42 can be assigned a second fastening device 44 adapted for a cooperation with a fastening plate 45, where the fastening plate is adapted to be fastened to the base. The second fastening device 44 is adapted to a fixed but easily removable interaction between the second cone 42 and the fastening plate 45. The second fastening device may, for example, as shown in the figure, consist of a bayonet bracket with a first bayonet part 44a and a second bayonet part 44b adapted to a cooperation, in which a cooperating fastening device 35a is shown in figure 3.
Figure 5 shows that a device 51 according to the invention can be adapted to communicate with a first communication interface 52 and / or a second communication interface 53, where the first interface 52 is adapted to transmit an external alarm signals to spaces A2 outside the monitored room A1.
The second communication interface 53, a digital communication interface, whereby it is possible to communicate with the device 51 for service purposes and if desired to keep a log of measured gas levels. Both the first and second interfaces 52, 53 for communication may be a wired interface or a wireless interface 54. There is nothing to prevent the first and second interfaces from being a common interface, such as only the second interface being present, but that it is then also adapted for communication of an external alarm signal.
The device according to the invention can thus be included in a system of a plurality of devices 51, 55, where different rooms A1, A2 can be monitored from a central position 56 from which it is possible to communicate with devices 51, 55 included in the system.
The invention is of course not limited to the embodiments given above as examples, but may undergo modifications within the scope of the inventive concept as defined by the appended claims.
